Sixteen saves. Two goals conceded. One defeat. Luan's afternoon at CRB summed up in three numbers, and none of them tell the full story of how close he came to pulling off something remarkable.
CRB won 2-1 in the Brasileirão Serie B, a scoreline that on its own suggests a tight, even contest. The shot count behind it suggests otherwise. Londrina's goalkeeper was forced into action again and again, and kept finding answers until the match simply ran out of saves for him to make.
A Rating That Says It All
Luan finished with a match rating of 8.6, the kind of number usually reserved for players on the winning side. It is a reminder that goalkeeping performances do not always align with results. CRB got their two goals, but it was not for lack of resistance between the posts.
Busy From Start to Finish
Sixteen saves is a heavy workload for any goalkeeper in a single match. Every save bought Londrina time, delayed the inevitable, or denied a CRB chance that looked destined to end up in the net. In the end it bought them a battle, not the three points.
CRB will take the win and move on. Londrina will take a performance from their goalkeeper that deserved a different result.
