While much of Serie A inches through the market, Venezia have accelerated past their top-flight peers with a €38m spree that has reshaped their squad in a matter of weeks.
The headline arrival is Akor Adams, the Nigerian forward secured from Sevilla for €16m (more than double any other fee in this window for the club). Adams brings pace and physicality up front, qualities Venezia lacked in stretches of their campaign. Behind him, Kosovo international Albion Rrahmani (€7.5m from AC Sparta Praha) and German centre-back Armel Bella-Kotchap (€7m from Hellas Verona) add depth at both ends.
Wide reinforcements and youth
The club have also moved for width and versatility: Polish winger Kornel Lisman arrives from Lech Poznań for €2.5m, while Brazilian midfielder Ale Gomes (€2m, Real Zaragoza) and Croatian right-back Bartol Franjić (€1.3m, VfL Wolfsburg) round out a balanced set of additions. Two further deals, both undisclosed, complete the eight-strong intake.
The combined outlay dwarfs what most mid-table Serie A sides have committed so far. Whether the investment translates to stability or ambition beyond survival will depend on how quickly the new pieces gel, but Venezia have at least signalled intent. Adams will shoulder much of the goalscoring burden; the rest must ensure he gets the service.
