Changelog - Week 44

The Dutch second tier joins BSD, alongside a week of speed work on live scores and player pages and clear answers on what's coming next.

A shorter week on the surface, but a useful one: one new competition, a lot of work on speed, and some straight answers about what we will and won't build next.

A new Dutch league to follow

The Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football, is now available across BSD with fixtures, results, tables and squads, just like every other competition we cover. This came in as a direct request from a customer, and it means the promotion race, the loan spells and the young players on their way to the top flight are all now visible in one place.

Steadier speed when everyone is watching

Most of our time this week went into speed. We found that live scores, player pages, individual match pages, league listings, referee lists and broadcast details were all slowing down at the busiest hours of the evening, sometimes badly. We've traced the biggest causes and started clearing them, so a packed Saturday night should feel closer to a quiet Tuesday morning. This is ongoing work and you should notice it improving week by week.

What you asked for, and where it stands

Plenty of good requests landed. Team strength ratings for clubs and national teams are now on the roadmap, though we're not putting a date on them yet. Two more Turkish competitions, including live coverage of the second tier and the domestic cup, are being worked through. We're also looking at the full run of in-match events for games that have already finished, and at richer detail when a side changes shape, including the exact position of the player coming on. One we can't promise: a fast refresh on in-play football odds. We won't ship it until we have prices we trust.

Our updates, all from one place

Every announcement we post, including this weekly round-up, now goes out through a single verified account and is recorded on our side. If a message claims to be from us, you can tell at a glance whether it really is, and we can always tell you exactly what we sent and when.
