**European pedigree meets Turkish firepower in Istanbul.** Both sides arrive unbeaten in their domestic leagues — this is a proper statement game for round 1. 🔥

Fenerbahçe have looked sharp at home, especially in Europe (that Lyon result is chef's kiss), but missing Söyüncü and Guendouzi stings the midfield. Roma's defensive trio is solid and they've been putting teams to bed lately — four goals in back-to-back wins.

Key storylines:

- **Fenerbahçe's midfield sans Guendouzi** — Kanté and Aydın have to control tempo against a Roma side that loves to press
- **Malen and Dybala cutting in** — Roma's attacking shape thrives on width; expect them to hunt Fenerbahçe's flanks relentlessly
- **Greenwood and Muriqi's link-up** — if Fenerbahçe's pace clicks, they can hurt Roma on transition

Expected lineups:

- **Fenerbahçe**: Ederson, Brown, Škriniar, Aké, Semedo, Kanté, Aydın, Nene, Asensio, Greenwood, Muriqi
- **AS Roma**: Svilar, Ndicka, Mancini, Hermoso, Wesley, El Aynaoui, Cristante, Koné, Cherubini, Malen, Dybala

Prediction:

**1-2 Roma.** Roma's clinical edge in the final third and that settled backline just shade it on the road. Fenerbahçe will make them work, but missing bodies in midfield tips the scales. ⚽
