Chelsea have broken their transfer record by paying €138m to bring Morgan Rogers across from Aston Villa, nearly doubling the midfielder's €77m market valuation in a deal that underlines the scale of spending across Europe's elite this week.
The 24-year-old becomes the centrepiece of a Chelsea rebuild that has now also secured Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix for €60.7m. Together, the two signings take the Stamford Bridge outlay past €200m in recent days alone.
Madrid join the party
Real Madrid responded with their own statement, pulling Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig for €125m. The Ivorian international, valued at €99m, adds midfield depth to a squad that has simultaneously offloaded Gonzalo García to Fulham for €40m.
Paris Saint-Germain are moving in the opposite direction. Randal Kolo Muani has joined Juventus for €41.2m (more than twice his current €18m valuation), while Kang-in Lee completed a €40m switch to Atlético Madrid. Both exits suggest a reshaped attack is incoming at the Parc des Princes.
Saudi pull and Premier League churn
Crysencio Summerville left West Ham United for Al-Hilal in a €64.5m move that continues the Saudi Pro League's pursuit of European talent, the winger departing for nearly 70% above his €38m book value. Brentford, meanwhile, reinforced with RC Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare for €48m, a €9m premium on market estimates.
Eight deals north of €40m in a matter of days: the summer market is running at a pace that suggests plenty more movement before the window shuts.
